Bradenton Utilities Setup: Electric, Water, Gas, Internet
Direct phone numbers and how the FPL line splits the city from county addresses across Bradenton, Palmetto, and Ellenton.
Bradenton is a Manatee County city, and the utility map looks completely different from Tampa or Hillsborough. Florida Power & Light handles electric across all of Manatee County, not TECO. Water depends on whether you're inside Bradenton city limits or in unincorporated Manatee. Gas service is real but limited, mostly Peoples Gas in older neighborhoods. Internet is a Spectrum and Frontier story, with fiber rolling out faster on the city side than the county side. If you're closing on a home in River Strand, Lakewood Ranch, Riverdale, Palma Sola, or West Bradenton, this is the call sheet.
Electric in Bradenton | Florida Power & Light (FPL)
FPL is the only electric provider in Bradenton and across all of Manatee County. New service is set up online or by phone, with same-day or next-business-day activation.
FPL rates in 2026 are competitive with the rest of the state, and the storm hardening work after Hurricane Ian moved a lot of Bradenton's distribution lines underground. Outage frequency in coastal Manatee dropped meaningfully after that build-out. Anna Maria and Longboat Key are still on the bridge feeders, which is the one part of the area where multi-day outages still happen.
Water and Sewer | City of Bradenton or Manatee County
Inside Bradenton city limits, water and sewer are run by the City of Bradenton Public Works Department. Outside city limits, in unincorporated Manatee (most of Lakewood Ranch, Parrish, Ellenton, and University Park), the provider is Manatee County Utilities. Same shape, different phone numbers and bills.
City of Bradenton requires a signed service agreement before activation, completed online or in person at City Hall. Manatee County has a similar process for unincorporated addresses, with a few extra steps in the newer Parrish and Ellenton subdivisions.
Gas in Bradenton | TECO Peoples Gas
Peoples Gas covers parts of Bradenton, mostly older central neighborhoods and a few newer master-planned communities. Many homes here are electric-only, especially in Lakewood Ranch and the newer Parrish builds. Verify with the seller disclosure before you assume gas is on the property.
Trash and Recycling | City of Bradenton or Manatee County
Inside city limits, the City of Bradenton handles trash and recycling pickup, billed quarterly on a separate utility statement. Outside city limits, Manatee County contracts pickup through Waste Pro and bills annually on the property tax statement, similar to Hillsborough.

A few Bradenton notes
The city limit line matters more in Bradenton than in most Tampa Bay cities. It changes which water company you call and which trash bill you get. Lakewood Ranch crosses both Manatee and Sarasota counties and most of it is unincorporated, so almost no one in Lakewood Ranch is on City of Bradenton water. Pull the parcel record before you call to set up service.
Manatee County has been one of Florida's fastest-growing counties for the last five years, mostly driven by Lakewood Ranch and Parrish. That growth shows up in the utility queue. New construction can take longer to activate than expected. If you're closing on a new build, give the providers seven to ten business days, not three.
A Vreeland Real Estate agent can pull the FPL outage history, the Manatee County CDD list, and the school zone for any Bradenton address before you write an offer. That's the kind of due diligence a Vreeland Real Estate agent who actually works the south end of Tampa Bay does.
